Ah. Summer is fleeting... all too quickly, it seems. Yesterday was my last real "free" summer day, and now, I'm starting to really feel the back to school madness. UGH WHY MUST SUMMER END.
I've been busy since I last wrote... Tuesday night was amazing-- I went with J and his mom to a OneRepublic concert! :D And because I realize I'm behind on my "video of the week" (if you will), I'll be posting one of my all-time favorite OneRepublic songs. I didn't really know it that well before the concert, but I absolutely love it now. (: The lead singer was SPECTACULAR. He could sing. It was crazy awesome. So full of energy. We got tickets (box seats!!) at Wolf Trap (National Park for the Performing Arts) and we could feel our overhanging seats vibrating with the bass and energy of people jumping up and down. It was so great. That was Tuesday.

ONEREPUBLIC :D

Anyways. The late afternoon/early evening was spent with J-- we babysat Baby D. It will be two and a half-ish weeks until I see J again, so last night was spent mostly just having fun and relaxing (that's mostly after we put Baby D to bed). I know two and a half-ish weeks is like, nothing, but we have a hard time lasting five days. So.... XD
May or may not have told you... but my dad has a job interview with some people tomorrow morning...in Pennsylvania. Hence we drove all the way up here (to PA) for his interview tomorrow at 8:30am. The people who are going to interview him paid for his own hotel room (fancy!) and we are just chilling in a separate hotel as moral support. Well, not JUST moral support, haha. If my dad gets this job, (it's a good one!) we could possibly move up here and our lives would definitely change for the better. Getting a job that has ties with the university would give us a discount at a really great college, not to mention the real estate in the area is far more affordable than what we have in VA. Mom has always wanted to move to State College, a university town purty much smack-dab in the middle of PA. The schools are great, not to mention the good ol' local university, Penn State. So... this is quite exciting....
Needless to say, I hope the interview goes well. At the moment, I can't imagine leaving VA and all the people I've connected with there. But I know in the long run, a move up here would make the most sense for all of our futures.. I've never moved before, so I wouldn't really know what to expect. Sure there's the stereotypical crying with friends, going away party, huge moving van, being the new kid at school... And it feels weird knowing that such experiences could be just down the road for me. I don't think it'll be bad, it'll just be different.
Tomorrow we plan on waking up somewhat early, eating breakfast, and chill at the hotel packing and waiting for Dad's interview to finish. We'll check out and then head to look at real estate in the area (yay. whoopee.) Mom's excited about it though; she's set up appointments with some realtors to show us around a couple houses. That should be interesting. We've been coming to State College for a while now, and we've found some great places to eat, some of which I think we'll visit tomorrow (; We may even squeeze a college visit in while we're here, who knows.
The future at this point is a little hazy. A lot of it will depend on how Dad's interview goes tomorrow. But if life changes, it'll definitely be something to get used to. A new adventure, of sorts. Who knows. Whatever it is, challenge accepted.
xoxo
