#Nofilter is the keyword, here.
It's week two (sorry this post is a bit late... exams are coming up and everything is all crazy in my life as of now) of UMASKED and I'm still going strong. I have gotten a lot of "you look different..." over this past week, and every time it has happened, I've told them about going unmasked for January. It's kinda fun, actually. And it's been fun, this past week. Getting comfortable in my own skin, I just try to buff and polish what I was born with. Soap, water, and a smile is all I need. And a funny thing...
So I told J about being unmasked in January, and he looked at me and said "I didn't notice... you're beautiful all the time." And I was like AWWWWWWWWWWWW! ...Lol... But honestly, all you girls out there-- look for a guy who will say that. You want a guy who looks at you, stunned, lost in your beauty, even when you're bare as anything or just woke up, or just cried for 5 hours and look all puffy...
But anyways. As promised, here's a photo for week #2!
UNMASKED- WEEK 2
Gorgeous, right? (;
Now I have to say... I love making faces. Singing in a choir a couple years back, a peer came up to me and told me I had the most expressive face when singing... and that all she could do was look at me. That touched me, because I used to be afraid of making faces... I'd be like "eww that's horrendous...DON'T EVAR PHOTOGRAPH ME LIKE THAT." Well. Time passes. You realize things. And time after time I have realized that some of the faces I make... some of the everyday faces I make, have the ability to cheer up someone who just isn't feeling the awesomeness of the day. Maybe they're a bit sad, and maybe they're just having a bad day. I just know that my over-the-top faces I have made in the halls, at the lunch table, or just out in public have caused a lot of laughter. Laughter relieves stress. So, in essence, my faces are a stress reliever XD More importantly, I've given up caring about whether a face looks attractive or not. It's impossible to look camera-gorgeous ALL THE TIME. Even celebrities, they have some pictures of them that are anything but fabulous. Unfortunately, the tabloids seem to love exploiting those...
So I hope you enjoy that picture up there... hope it made you crack a smile, or made you chuckle a bit. I know it made me do those things XD In fact, I laugh at myself quite a lot. So don't worry about looking weird... be confident, make weird faces! I wonder what would happen if a magazine like Vogue or Cosmo had all of their models make ridiculous faces...? Sure, they may not be alluring enough, and therefore may lose some of its male audience (trust me, guys peek at magazines like that)... but it's real. People aren't picture perfect all the time, and people make faces.
So get out there and make some faces of your own. Maybe those that laugh at you only wish they had the confidence to expose that side of themselves...
I'd like to leave you with an interesting quote I found online... sadly, it's origins are unknown, but I like it nonetheless:
"Blessed are those who can laugh at themselves, for they shall never cease to be amused."
