The week's not even over yet-- in fact, there's more to come. But so far, things have been purty busy.
Monday was... something. At the moment I can't really remember what I did. I may come back and edit this post if I remember. XD ...but that's a lot of effort to put in, so... who knows.
OH! I remember. I did a lot of shopping with Andrea. I got a new dress and a fun blue blazer-- as well as a bunch of blisters from trekking around the mall in my fashionable (yet deadly) wedges (;
Tuesday was the bomb. I managed to see J earlier in the day-- biking to his place was easier since it's a little cooler when it's earlier in the day. We did random things-- one of which was play BattleBlock together. I think he loves the fact that he finally found a game that I like and that we can play together (besides Mario Party/Mario Kart and a bit of Portal... though that was sometimes hard to play because I was so bad at it XD). I like the fact that we can co-op next to each other (or not, if I'm at home and he's not with me and vice versa) and then high-five after completing levels or whatnot. It's nice. In a way, it's like he's got the two things he loves in front of him: (and I don't want this to sound braggy or self-centered :/) me and video games. XD
Later in the day, I headed over to Andrea's house armed with the last 3 movies of the Harry Potter series. We were attempting a Potterthon-- watching all 8 Harry Potter movies in a row. Well... our planning wasn't the best, and it apparently takes about 17-19 hours to do it all... BUT. We got to the 6th movie after starting around 3 something PM. So.... I think we made some purty good progress. We took a break to eat, of course... but we figured we'd let the movie run while doing so as we went upstairs to eat with her family XD (That's not cheating at alllllll.....haha) But it was fun. The next morning I had to get up kind of early becaaaauuuuse....
Wednesday was hike day! Er, hiking day. A friend of mine was getting some people to go hiking with her at Great Falls Park. It's a gorgeous place with fantastic overlooks at the falls-- and the trails are really nice.
There were signs like this everywhere in the park-- saying how the Potomac River was beautiful but deadly, and that DROWNING IS REAL... not imaginary (;
J and I at the overlook (:
However, at times it was hard to enjoy it all because it. Was. So. HOT. I'm purty sure it was like, 98 degrees that day. It was kind of awful. After we were done melting in the sun, we found an air-conditioned visiting center and decided to eat lunch in there. The sign when you walked in said no food or beverages, but shhhhh... Nobody has to know (; There was this theatre in there where they showed some movie about the history of the gorge/canal and no one was in there, so we designated that as our personal eat/hangout spot. We were uber careful not to spill anything or make a mess, don't worry (; Because it was so darn hot and people didn't wanna leave the AC, we ended up playing many rounds of Heads Up, a fun app featured on Ellen DeGeneres. When I heard about it, I had to buy it XD It's good fun.
Annnnnnnd then we get to today! Today is sort of... a slight panic day? I'm pulling everything together for my new job, and it's a bit nerve-wracking and exciting. I start Monday and it's going to be crazy! Later today may consist of fireworks with friends. Annnnnnd then tomorrow is the Fourth of July and it's gonna end the week with a bang. (Literally.) (;
Do you guys have any 4th of July plans? :D (Mostly talking to mah American buddies here, but you know XD If you have plans tomorrow too and you're not in ze Americas, that's great too! I'd still love to hear about your plans :P)
