Letters From a Beach Bum: Day 9

o.O

Whew.

I just have to say... the time-stamps on some of the following statements may be weird... seeing as I'm suffering from a bit of insomnia, and it is very early morning Aug. 19th, and I'm writing a post that is going to be scheduled for the 18th.  So I apologize in advance for any tense changes, or really confusing things.

But anyways.  Day 9-- shall we?

~

TODAY WAS GREAT AND WEIRD AND WONDERFUL AND TIRING.  The day started off with me and ze fam waking up after noon (because I went to bed so late last night).  Good stuff, sleeping in is. Today was like, the first day we did not go to the beach.  'Twas a break in tradition!  And boy, was it an interesting break....

We stayed in the condo for a bit, ate a smallish breakfast...And, because we woke up so late, we got ready a bit late... and then we were off.  Off to grab an early-bird special at one of my favourite places to eat here in Ocean City--- Paul Revere's Smorgasbord.  On the boardwalk, it is an all-you-can-eat place that serves seafood and a ton of other things that you can probably imagine.

You can sorta see the sign here... behind the "buffet" weird flag thingy... XD
One thing I love about Paul Revere's is that they have these complimentary post cards.  You get them before you leave-- you fill them out, address them, and then you put them in a basket where they'll collect them, and then mail them for you (:  So I wrote one to J (shhhhhh don't tell him I want it to be a surprise in his mailbox :P ...unless he's reading this... and then that means my plan is kinda screwed... XD) But anyways.  After eating there, we walked the boards.  Lots to see, as always:

Lights. Lights everywhere!

Shirts I wanted to buy for Andrea and I (:

Really awesome street painter... what makes him special? He does his trippy-fantastic art with spray paint.  Hence the gas mask (;

Some of his finished products

Amazing, right?

One of my personal favourties... ^

This is the one he was working on in the picture where he's there with his gas mask

It gets darker... the lights get purtier (:

A SHARK GOT STUCK UP THERE!  ...Just kidding.  It's the corner of the "Ripley's Believe it or Not" building-- it's a fake shark that moves back and forth through the corner of the building due to mechanical stuffs XD  Had you fooled there for a sec, didn't I? (;

Throwback to the time when Andrea and I actually went on this and the guy running it didn't know how to run it, so we got to stay on for like, ever, and we got stuck(ish) at the top... XD Good times.

The tram station.  The little car/train thing that takes people up and down the boardwalk.
So yeah.  We walked down there and stuff... I even reunited with a friend Andrea and I met when we were there... it was a bit awkward, but funny.  It was around 10:30 when we actually left the boardwalk.

Where did we go afterwards?  Wal-Mart.  There aren't really any good dept. stores ish in town, so we had to go to West Ocean City to get some stuff... My brothers, for one, needed some new shoes (as did I) and there was some lingering school supplies we still had yet to purchase.  Well.  The whole excursion took.. a long time.  I'm purty sure we were in that store for like, 3+ hours. Because our family is crazy.  And because things take forever. It was terrible.  Before we know it, it's 3am in the morning, and we're just then driving back to our condo unit.  But on the way we realize it's been like, 10 hours since we've last eaten, so we decide to stop by Pizza Tugos for a way-later-than-midnight snack.  They're open til 4am regularly, so that worked out. (:

And now.  It's like 5am and I'm still not asleep... it's technically Tuesday right now, even though it still feels like Monday night.....

So I'm gonna end this post and get a bit of sleep. ...Because it's been one hell of a day.  (;
Hope everyone is still having a marvelous vaycay!

xoxo
