Shabby, But Not Too Shabby...

Well, it's over.  The first day of school, that is.  I'm kind of relieved.

No more "oh my, what will I wear"... No more "god I haven't seen you in forever! Talk with me for hours and tell me about your summer!" No more anticipating who will be in my classes, since that's been revealed...
I feel like this year was the most non-excited I have ever been for school, if that makes any sense.  The night before, I was totally unprepared.  I was throwing my school supplies together, just shoving stuff into my backpack... I hadn't laid out my clothes, either.  Yeah, I got dressed today on a whim... Crazy, right? Normally I need HOURS deciding what I'll wear the first day.  Maybe I just don't care anymore.  It's not like it's the last day and what you wear will be forever ingrained into the minds of your friends for all of the short eternity of summer.  You've got the whole year ahead of you to wear however many stupid outfits you want.  Plus, it's just clothes.
Ha, this is beginning to feel like a ranty-rant.... So perhaps I'll move on to how my day went, or at least walk you through it with a hint of humour and cynical-ness.  (They should make a word for that... maybe they have, and I'm just not thinking of it... but I think I want to invent it.  The word shall be "cynicality". Ha!  Take that, Merriam Webster's!)

Our annoying bus driver was on time.  She's the kind who won't stop for anybody if they're late (as I have found on multiple occasions).  There were so many annoying freshmen on the bus... What used to be a fairly empty bus of about ten people is now a swarm of annoying-ness of about 20.  The bus was full.  And the thing is, I have a hard time believing I was that annoying as a freshman... But anyways.  She got us to the school in a timely manner and that's all that counts, right? Or rather, that's what should count...

I walked in the doors feeling kind of anxious.  I had to get past a swarm of people, mostly lost freshmen.  Everyone was hugging in reunion etc. in the hallways, so I had to squeeze by that... My locker is downstairs this year, so I had to trudge down the stairs.  I was trying to look for J, he'd said we could see eachother in the mornings.  I never ended up finding him, though... in fact I only saw him once the entire school day for a brief not-even five seconds in the hallway.  So that was fun.

First period = English.
My teacher is really nice-- she's got an average nice sense of humour and a bit of a southern accent, which I kinda personally love XD  The thing I don't really love that much is the homework on the first day...  Meh, I guess it's nothing I can't handle.

Second period = Study Hall
Grumpy lady presiding.  That will be all.

Third period = AP World History
Taught by a spunky 25 fresh out of college guy with an arm tattoo like John Mayer's peeping out of his professional businessman shirt sleeve... He's really cool and fun.  I think I just may LIKE history this year...

Fourth period = Health/PE/Driver's Ed
Fun athletic teacher lady.  She's nice... this class doesn't really matter much to me...

Overall, it was an okay day.  But perhaps tomorrow will be better (;
xoxo
