Happy Easter!

Happy Easter, everyone (:  

It's been a day of church, eggs, Easter bunny, family, good food, and reflection.  

"And Jesus Christ our Lord was shown to be the Son of God when God powerfully raised him from the dead by means of the Holy Spirit. Through Christ, God has given us the privilege and authority to tell Gentiles everywhere what God has done for them, so that they will believe and obey him, bringing glory to his name."

Easter Sunday is a special church holiday for we celebrate the fact that Christ has risen from the dead (on the third day after he suffered death and was buried, put away in tombs seemingly so inaccessible...) The miracle and hope of this day has renewed itself, generation after generation and year after year.   Our rector gave an inspiring sermon, and after the service the little ones raced across the church property in hot pursuit of Easter eggs.  There was a lovely luncheon served, and in the middle of the tables were collections of these gorgeously dyed eggs-- I asked one of the ladies there helping how she got the eggs so pretty, and she talked about a method called silk-dying.  You can see the steps used to make these little beauties here. Done just the right way, you can end up with really beautiful vibrant eggs (: 

Annnnnnd Easter wouldn't be complete without the family Easter bunny picture... I know we older children  groan now when we have to sit with the bunny, but Boo's still young... she deserves to have her bunny experiences like we did (:  Funny thing though-- when I was admiring her innocence as the bunny gave her a little plastic egg... she comes up to me, sticks her egg in her little paper collection bag and says "It's just a man in a suit."

I'll be off now-- we're going to go visit my dad's mother and wish her a happy Easter at the nursing home.
