Stuff + An Attempt at a New Blog Feature + Kandinsky = Procrastination

Whew.

Can I just say I'm ready for summer?  16ish more days of school and then we're done. (Look at my handy dandy countdown!)*  Free for a few months.

*Lots of scrolling involved, as it's at the bottom of all of the posts listed on this page...

Things have calmed down a bit since I last wrote...er... typed...  AP exams are done for me, and now it's just random SOLs and finals approaching.  Should be a smooth ride from here on... provided I can keep it together for that long.  *crosses fingers*

So.

I've decided I'm gonna try and keep up with this blog a little better-- I know once summer hits I'll have a shit-tonne of time, so that should help (:

But until then, I've come up with a little something that can help me just get out ideas/events/random stuff out of my head and on here-- it's a feature I recently invented called.... ummm... *struggles to think up a witty name for it*  I dunno, an "Event Alphabet"?  ...All of the names I can think of are super lame... (**If you have an idea for what I could call this new feature, your comments would be greatly appreciated :D)
ANYWAYS.  So the thing is, I basically list the past things that have happened in my week/day/month or just current stuff as items starting with each letter of the alphabet.   (Again, this could turn out to be a really lame feature.. if you end up hating it... well... I dunno... you can tell me or not tell me XD but I'll figure something out)
So.  Shall we give this a try? (I apologize in advance for lengthy, random items on this list... I feel like if I were to do this on a weekly basis, the list itself would be the entirety of the blog post XD)

Abstract art.  So for a project in my German class, we have to pick a German artist (painter/sculptor) and research them.  We then have to do a presentation about their life and contributions to the art world.  We have to sort of become them, though, and present from their point of view.  My favourite part about this project is the art part--- we get to re-create or make a painting based on a work of our chosen artist.  I bought my canvas today, and I have no idea what I'm going to do... but it should be fun.  I'm so excited.  My artist of choice is Wassily Kandinsky.  And yeah, you may be thinking "uh... but he's Russian."  I am aware of this XD  He was just very influential and was a part of the German group of painters called "Der Blaue Reiter" which translates to "The Blue Rider".  This group of artists was, in essence, a major basis for the movement of Expressionism.  Here are some of my favourite works by him: (I've been kinda obsessed as of late XD)

  • Bad sleeping habits.  Yeah.... I should start going to sleep earlier... I'm gonna be burning out.
  • Cravings. The sweet tooth has been off the wall as of late...
  • Done. I am 1) so done 2) done with AP exams 3) done with this delicious chocolate covered popcorn...
  • Energy. Anyone know where I can get some?
  • Friends.  I had an awesome bike ride with a friend I haven't spent time with in a whiillle.  It was nice.
  • Giraffes.  (Because I'm testing the waters here with this alphabet thing and giraffes start with G)
  • Haircut!  Yep, that's right! I got a haircut recently (:   Here's a picture:

  • Icecream.  J and I basically ate like, half a tub of French Vanilla a couple days ago as we had long study sessions together in preparation for the AP World History Exam.
  • Jlabs.  Practice online science tests because I realize I'm bad at retaining information and I need to actually go over stuff...
  • KANDINSKY!!!!!!! <3  Been eating, breathing and sleeping this guy (okay, maybe not sleeping him) because I need to get a handle on his techniques/style.
  • Love.  Makes the world go round.
  • Math.  WOO so my math grade is steadily climbing upwards!
  • NO MORE AP EXAMS! *celebration*
  • Open DOOOOOORRRRR!  So I could have used this for "L" and just said "Love is an open DOORR", as in, the awesome song from Disney's Frozen.  This past weekend, since J has the entire Frozen Deluxe album off iTunes, we sang to the instrumental of this song over and over until we almost got it perfect.  (We were both relatively new to the movie--me more than he-- and we had to listen to the original over and over to finally nail the words.)  It was so great though-- I should put a video of us doing it here XD
  • Procrastination.  <-- Something I'm quite good at...  There are several things I could/should be doing right now... but...  (;
  • Quiche!  A guy made a ton of it and brought it to our church's coffee hour last Sunday.  It was phenomenal.  The quiche part of my soul has been renewed. <3
  • Ready.  READY FOR SUMMER. I CAN'T MAKE THIS CLEAR ENOUGH.
  • Sleepy.  Yep.  That's me right now.  I wanna evade homework and just nap.
  • Tired.  (See above.)
  • Underestimating.  So... a couple days ago, I tried to jump over a chain rope thingy obstructing my path and I kinda underestimated the jump and tripped over it while in the air, resulting in my body slamming the concrete.  The results?  A ginormous bruise on my elbow, a sore body, and a scratched-patch on my right cheek.  It's healed a bit, though... and my body is slowly recovering (: My pride was a bit damaged there for a bit, though... considering it was while we were returning back from a run around the track in gym class...
  • Virgins.  Read an interesting poem about them the other day in English class.  Nice to know people back then had such a carpe diem attitude towards that kinda stuff back then.
  • Why.  Why can't school just hurry up and be done?
  • Xylophone.  (Just a heads up, this may become a common recurring word on this kind of list XD) But I do admire a really fast xylophone part in an instrumental accompaniment for our choir-- we're singing "Let It Go" as part of our Pop's Concert (where we sing modern music instead of choral-- this year's theme is "the Popscars-- best movie music".  Soooo yeah, stuff from Frozen is definitely gonna be included.
  • Yams.  I've actually acquired a sudden craving for sweet potatoes right now...
  • Zucchini!  Ha, what a lucky word...   My mom has recently started her own little garden in front of our house(ish) and she's trying to grow a variety of things-- beans, peppers, squash, zucchini, eggplant, and strawberries to name a few) <-- that makes it sound like a not-so-little garden anymore.. Ha...
Wow...
That took a lot moar thought than I was anticipating...
But it's new... it was an experiment.  Now I can say I've given it a try.

So that's my life as of late (:  Questions? Comments? Complaints? (<-- Not too many of these, please XD)  You know where to find me (;

(...if you don't know where to find me, I'm sitting here in my office in my own little corner of the Internet procrastinating...)

xoxo
