It has been too long. Entirely too long. And it's a Friday, so I am totally going to do this post. Homework, for once, can wait. So. Since it's been like, half a month since I last wrote... I have a lot to catch y'all up on.
Shall we?
School. Ahhhhhhhhh this section makes me want to shoot myself! 3 AP's is definitely doing me in. I have to stay strong though... In my first couple weeks as a junior I have managed to fail a calc test, scrape by in AP Lang, turn in an assignment late, and dive-bomb in a Socratic seminar held completely auf Deutsch. So that's cool, I guess. But it makes my soul cringe a bit to think about that... So let's talk about happier things, yeh?
One huge thing that's happened was CHORALFEST at JMU. That was a highlight. Members of my choir went down to Harrisonburg, VA to James Madison University to make music magic. Singing with collegiate members of choir. Touring campus. Eating on campus. Obtaining spectacular conducting and coaching from the phenomenal Dr. Aspaas. Spending a night at a hotel. Jumping in a pool with my clothes on (that's...perhaps a story I'll tell another time) and singing our lungs out on the bus ride back to northern VA. It was a great trip... And I think I may have finally earned the respect of my choir director, so that's a plus. So now comes the part where I throw in pictures!

Annnnd here's the crew, all decked out in JMU gear. Yours truly is sticking out like a sore thumb in her bright blue pants... XD
So that was a good time. OH and our bus driver-- (we took a school bus early in the morning that Friday down to Harrisonburg) was an adorable 70-something year old who called himself "Crash". (His real name was Joe, lol). He was the NICEST person EVAR, and he had a funny sense of humour. I gained this pearl of wisdom:
"If at first you don't succeed... skydiving may not be for you."
--Crash
In other school-ish related news... related to the whole "Junior year is nothing but new-ness", I decided to join the Powderpuff team for the game this coming Tuesday. It's homecoming week this coming week! :D. If you're unfamiliar with Powderpuff football, it's where the girls play the game and the boys cheer lead. Our class has a phenomenal boy's cheer routine (so I hear (; ) We'll see how that goes. But anyways. Powderpuff. It's been annoying... our practices have been at 7am, three times a week. That combined with unfinished homework and almost no sleep isn't a fun thing. But it's almost over. This coming Tuesday will be the game, and then it'll be done with.
So yes, the Homecoming festivities are among us. And speaking of Homecoming... guess who asked me :P (Hint: we've been dating a while XD) It was adorable the way he did it-- We were hanging out in his basement, when he asks me if I want to watch TV. I said yes, and he handed the remote. It's one of those complicated xfinity ones and I turn on everything but the TV. All of a sudden J looks kinda distraught/depressed/dejected and sighs. Thinking I had maybe seriously messed up his TV, I apologized but at the same time wondered how can someone get so upset looking over an incorrectly turned on TV? Well, apparently, I had messed up his ask-Stephanie-to-homecoming plan. XD He took the remote from my hands, pressed a few things, and then voila-- we tuned into this surprise channel:
I was surprised XD And it was adorable. But it's great because I've bought my dress already. I actually bought it like, 2 months ago. XD (Pictures to come! (; )
Moving on from Homecoming... and back to the theme of branching out and just stepping out of my comfort zone and trying ALL OF THE NEW THINGS.... I tried out for my school's comedy improv troupe... And made it. :O Our first show was tonight (Friday) and wow. What an awesome experience. I mean, doing plays and musicals is/has been fun, but I don't think I've ever enjoyed myself so much onstage before as I did tonight. It was. Incredible. And I'm so happy with the people in the troupe this year. It's a great bunch.
So I think that wraps up the school area. Next category!

Work. So I've been getting called in to work a lot lately. Which is 1) alright-ish because, well, money. but also 2) ugh-ish because I have a life too, you know. Also, it's sad... it's fall and things are winding down. Thonight, as it was like, below fifty degrees and people were freezing... you don't see many people go in to get froyo when it's froyo outside, you know? So we'll see where this goes.
Love. I guess I could've put the homecoming stuff here... Whoops. :P But I guess I will talk about something else... it's not my love, but rather, my best friend's. Recently, she ended things with her boyfriend because she did not like where the relationship was going... he was moving towards the whole stoner vibe and she didn't like that. In that case, I applaud her for her decision (because she's beautiful and honestly deserves way better). But on the other hand, I really feel for her. She and the guy have been together almost as long as J and I have, and, from the looks of it, they had a purty good run. Minus the whole doing things behind backs and breakdowns and whatever other things happened during that time that wasn't fairy-tale-esque... I guess I'm just saying it sucks... it sucks that people aren't sometimes who they say they are, and that you have to find out the hard way. I dunno if she ever wanders here... but if she does-- I just want her to know that I'm here for her, any time she wants to stay up all night and hot tub and munch on Doritos while watching Blades of Glory and White Chicks. Because she really is a gem, and the guy she gets should be bending over backwards to keep her. <3
Area 51. Annnnd here we are again-- it's always such a pleasure. Not really sure what to put in. I've talked about so much I think my brain is numb. Uhh..... My mom's birthday is this weekend! We're going down to her parents to celebrate on Sunday (: So that should be fun.....
Other than that, I can't really think of things to put in this category. That, and my brain is tired. But I will say this: I need more sleep. My mental health is being challenged every day because of it. And I need to exercise more. Hopefully I can do both of these things in this gorgeous fall weather that has been happening lately (:
And so there ya have it. My life as of late. Chaotic. Fun-filled. Out of control. As per usual (;
How's your October been so far?
xoxo
