MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Well, not really.  Christmas was technically yesterday, but it’s still the holiday season, right?

Anyways.

As a sort of winter break trip, we’re spending the 27th through the 30th in Colonial Williamsburg, VA.  While we’re there, we’ll see the historic area all done up for Christmas, with its traditional wreaths and candles and various bonfires.  It’s really pretty this time of year, and they have a giant Christmas tree out in front of the old historic court house.  It’s even prettier with snow on the ground… Maybe it’ll snow… (;

So I’ll try and put a tonne of pictures here, as some of the sights you see in the historic part are simply gorgeous.  It’s really easy to get swept away in the atmosphere, and you feel like you’re back in the 16-17th century.

However, we’re not there yet.

I’m writing to you from my trusty laptop, as we’re in the car driving to Williamsburg.  Earlier today, we went to visit my mom’s parents—we were keeping the party alive.  We basically had a second Christmas, with an awesome dinner like we had on the 25th, and we exchanged presents.  It was, as my grandmother loves to say, “a rather good haul”.  (;
Some highlights were a gorgeous charm bracelet/watch from my uncle and his girlfriend, a beautiful pair of stud earrings that once belonged to my great grandmother (my Pop-pop’s mother), courtesy of my Nana.   I also got some awesome smelling things from Bath and Body Works, combined with some sweet/sour candy (the BEST KIND OF CANDY out there, btw (; ) and some cool nail art pens.  There are probably some things I left out, due to my Dory memory (ish).  But it was all wonderful.  It was good to see everyone, especially my grandfather (he’s doing alright… though he’s going to get another heart thing done on January 9th… more issues concerning afib things… I’ll update more on that when I can) and it was a great night.

I kinda wish I could see J, though… We’ll only be apart for four days, but I swear it feels like forever already.  I know that there are people who probably haven’t seen their loved one for more than four days, so I guess I can’t really complain.  But I still miss him…

I hope you all are having an awesome holiday as always, wherever you may be (:

xoxo
