| WOOOT I'm 17 now!!!! |
I received so many lovely things (both tangible and intangible) from amazing and lovely people... I am so thankful (: As I get older, it's more chill. I don't like incessantly count down the days until my birthday and be obnoxious the day of... (I believe I used to do that... XD) and I've started to really look around and appreciate more. Perhaps this girl is getting wiser? O.o I'm not sure....
I don't feel old, so thanks, Uncle, for asking :P I feel....new. Rejuvenated. Rebellious. Capable. Independent. I'm a year away from becoming a legal adult and a junior in high school. It's a purty interesting feeling.
Time With the BFF Sooooooo because I'm so old (I'm 17, a lot of my friends are 15 and 16-- it's because I did an extra year of school-- a year between preschool and kindergarten-- "pre-k") I don't really keep track of friend's ages because I get it wrong. But one of my best friends had her 16th birthday a while ago. She celebrated with a private party bus that took a bunch of us invitees to D.C.. We visited the Mansion on O Street, an incredible place. It's 5 townhouses joined together that are kinda old. The place is literally Knick Knack Galaxy. There are paintings and doodads EVERYWHERE... Antique furniture, books... It's crazy. If you wanna check out this amazing place, you can look at the link above. I don't know how to describe it... it's so incredibly unique and classy and vintage and modern and classic and weird, all at once. We went on a scavenger hunt inside the mansion... there are 100 rooms in that place, if I'm remembering correctly, and 70ish secret doors. Yes, SECRET DOORS. I dunno about you, but as a child I was like obsessed with like, secret things. On the scavenger hunt, a group of my friends and I found about three doors, one disguised as a mirror, and the other two as bookcases/shelves. It was SO COOL. After the treasure hunt and we ate some birthday cake, we got back on the private bus to go drive a bit around D.C. and see the cherry blossoms. We even got off the bus for a little bit in front of the Jefferson Memorial to do a bit of walking and sight seeing, though it was a bit cold and really windy... and the blossoms hadn't really bloomed yet. :/ Sooooooooooooo we got back on the bus and headed back to our highschool, where we had met up earlier in the afternoon. It was a lovely night...
Another Peep at D.C. Soooooooo the day right after Maddie's partay, J and I went with his mom, her friend, and his lil brother, to go see if the cherry blossoms had finally popped. Some had, but the majority of the trees handn't quite bloomed yet. Now, of course, as I type this with practically 70 degree weather outside, I know they've bloomed. It must be beautiful... Here's a picture just because I like looking at the blossoms... even if I haven't yet seen them in person yet:
**PSSSST! None of these photos are mine-- I am not that skilled of a photographer XD So kudos to those who took these.. they are simply breathtaking (:
Annnnnyways. So that night, after seeing some partially erupted blooms on trees, we went to eat at a place called McCormick and Schmick's, a harborside seafood place. I'd definitely recommend it because the food was delicious... however, on a night like the night we were there, it was terribly busy and the food took FOREVAR to come. A bit on the pricey side, but it was very nice.
Near the restaurant was a cool art statue called "the Awakening". I'll let this photo speak for itself... (also not a picture of mine-- I used J's phone for most of the pictures I took when we were there, because his phone's camera is better than mine. Perhaps I'll upload some of the pictures I took later-- he's kinda preoccupied with being in Europe XD I'll get to that eventually... )

AND THE NIGHT REACHED PERFECTION when we stumbled across the Peep Store. Yes, I said PEEP store. There is a whole STORE dedicated to the Easter candy that I had no idea about. These aren't my pictures, hopefully I can add a few of my own later (: But I was literally hyperventilating inside because it smelled so good in there, in addition to the fact that I was surrounded by cute puffy marshmallow sweetness!!!
| THEY HAVE A PEEP BUG!!! (It's funny because J was like "Peep one, no punchbacks"... XD |
J, Maddie, Andrea and other People are in EUROPE! Eeeeeeeyup. So the German and Latin teacher at our school got a trip together for spring break for all interested students-- they would be going to Austria, Germany, and Italy. I would have LOVED to have gone... It was just kind of really expensive, and the money I would be spending on the trip is like... I could be spending it on college... So.. yeah. I still wish I could have gone though... They left on Thursday, and last I heard, they were in Amsterdam and then eating some place. It's really weird because of the time difference... (6 hours...! XD) last night I got a message from J at 1:29ish something AM, but it was him saying "it's 7 am here".
Needless to say, I miss everyone on the trip immensely. They're technically away from the states for 10 days-- not sure if they'll be back before the end of spring break... Which REMINDS me....
Today is the FIRST DAY OF SPRING BREAK! Wooooooohoooooo! It's about time... The weather is finally acting the way it should... flowers are blooming, birds are singing and the tree frogs are croaking. I went on a nice long bike ride today and saw some purty awesome wildlife... Life is good. I hope it will continue to stay good-- I'll try not to let the two looming projects I have due relatively soon bring me down... and the fact that our AP exams are coming up rather quickly after the break... and the fact that Legally Blonde still has a ways to go until it's showtime ready.... (<-- all of that was stressful to think about XD) Sigh. We go back to school the 24th... I still have yet to write a 6 pg. essay.... Bleh... I'll find a way to work it in. My mom wants to *I think* fit in a UVA college visit tomorrow. Then we'll most likely help my uncle celebrate his birthday on the 14th, and then we'll go to some museum the next day, and then be back in time for my dad to fly out to Chicago for some business trip. It should be fun.
Life is still fragile. My grandfather seems to be doing well, at least, judging by when I last saw him. He's using a walker now, though... I guess it was inevitable, and we wouldn't want him to fall down suddenly or lose his balance. It helps him get along, but I don't think his pride likes it XD For now, all is well.
Tasha, however... She's hanging on. With how rarely she eats, I'm surprised she's lasting this long. It makes me sad. She shivers at the slightest thing. I tried to keep her warm and have had her sleeping in my room for a while instead of the crate... I want her to be comfortable. I also don't want Boo to run into the room one day and find her...maybe when she really has gone to sleep eternally. That is not something you want a child of 6 to see... Or anyone, for that matter. It's so sad... Thinking about it brings a bit of tear to my eyes... ):
All we can do right now is make food available to her, keep her comfortable and be really gentle with her.
Well. XD
That was a rather long post... That's the excitement in my life as of late... only, throw in endless Legally Blonde rehearsals, homework, and a bit of AFK fun (;
Hope everyone is enjoying the break! I know I will (:
xoxo
