Yesterday was spent with my best friend, mostly biking around the local gorgeous trails. We had met up in the middle of the afternoon, and, two grilled cheeses and a half a bottle of sunscreen/tanning oil later, we were off. On trip one, we biked through the wondeful shady trails and saw a perfect place to take a dip-- beside a small waterfall that you can kinda walk over. It was purty great. When it's 90 something degrees outside, you just want to escape and plunge into any water you can. And that's what we wanted to do. So we rode back to our respective abodes and got the required swimwear, and then jet-setted right back to the beautiful,
So we swam for a little while (er, I did... Andrea kinda thought it was a bit too cold XD) and I managed to also step on a rusty nail/screw... (I need to check the status of my tetnus booster.. otherwise this girl needs to take a trip to the doctor and take care of that... ew, needles....) then we headed back. A wet-shorts bike ride later, we were at her house, gearing up for a night out on the town.
...Not really, haha. Instead, we were headed to Andrea's viola lesson (it's like a violin, but sounds deeper and richer). We did, however, make the trip in her mom's bad-ass BMW convertible with the music blasting XD
I had the pleasure of sitting on the side and watching her play for her sweet, slightly eccentric Hungarian teacher. (She was so funny-- and her accent was the bomb, lol). Throughout the lesson, I know her teacher was like "Your friend must think this is so boring" (actually, it was more like "Your friend must zink zis is borink" XD) But honestly, it was not boring. I watched Andrea as she played, did a bit of marveling at her talent, and I watched her instructor. When she tuned, she would listen until the note was just right. Some day, I hope to have an ear as developed as her. I listened to tone quality and all that, and it was like a mini lesson in theory. It was cool.
On the way back to Andrea's (I was spending the night), we had the top down and the music blasting. We also made a stop for pizza, and it was then that the butt song came on. (At least, that's what Andrea's mom calls it XD) Personally, we think the song is a bit stupid, but the minor-sounding whistle pattern is purty cool. Like the saxophone solo in this song.
We settled in with pizza (half of it with pineapple on it XD) to watch "Dear John". Let me just say. Channing Tatum is the bomb (a hot bomb), and Amanda Seyfried is a jerk for leaving him. And I hated the ending of that movie. Very disappointed. I also cried. XD
We didn't stay up that late, and I'm still tired XD I feel badly for Andrea though-- she woke up this morning knowing she had an appointment for wisdom tooth extraction around 10am. As with most minor/major surgeries, you can't really eat or drink beforehand (in her case, 6 hours before hand) so we kinda binged last night, going "ham sammich" with the Sprite, pizza and York peppermint patties... XD
It was a purty great day though.
Summer's looking up (:
xoxo
