Letters From A Beach Bum: Day 1

Hey y'all (:

I'd like to introduce you to a new (and temporary) series of blog posts. See title. (;
I dunno if I'll be able to post daily.... but then again, maybe taking on a 14-some-odd posting in a row challenge could be fun. (:

I'm a bit behind, so I'm time-travelling  scheduling this post for yesterday.  Speaking of which... Yesterday was purty awesome.  After getting into town at approx.  1 AM the night before, I slept like a rock.  If, you know, rocks ever sleep...

So I really don't know why my body woke me up at freaking 6:30 AM.  >:(

But I think... it was all worth it.  I mean, I woke up to this:

Purty awesome view of the water.  I mean, there are some buildings in the way, but it's still nice.   And we're right there.  The water is literally a couple hundred feet away from us.  It's nice.

The day started with a tasty breakfast at one of my favourite restaurants here: Dumser's.  Known for their fried chicken and ice cream, they are a dieters worst nightmare  a fantastic place to dine.

After a late brunch, we hit the beach for a couple of hours.  I set my towel on the sand and set up my umbrella... and I read.  I read and I wrote, a journal entry, and then went back to reading the book required for my AP class.  (I need to finish it before this week is out!)  I was, however, rudely interrupted when a wave came up (it was nearing high tide) and completely soaked me and my towel...thank goodness I grabbed up the book and other important stuff before it could get too wet.

We then made a stop at the pool here on the property.  The breeze was great.  Both on the beach and poolside.  Good breeze to read by.

After we were all dried off and de-beached/de-pooled, we headed out to dinner at Warren's Station.  I mentioned a lot of these places last year in my blog whilst on vacation, so you can probably read about them there, or there.

All in all, it was a great night.

Hope you guys (mah peeps on the continent receiving the summer season that is) are having a great summer! (:

xoxo

  1. I think this blog series will be fun! I'd like to hear about what you did on the beach XD.

    I think it's pretty cool that you would do your homework while you're on vacation anyway :D

    Have loads of fun there!

      And yeah, I try... It's still really easy to get distracted though XD And I can't tell you how many times I've been on full vacation mode... Where doing schoolwork makes me want to cringe... :P.
